Anti-Illegal Drugs IEC activity for October 2022: Regional Inter-agency Committee on Anti-illegal Drugs – Advocacy Cluster Meeting

The meeting started at exactly 10:15 AM with an opening prayer and the singing of the national
anthem. It was followed by a Roll Call of the participants. The activity was attended by the
a representative from different member agencies and stakeholders:

- PSA RSSO MIMAROPA - Rea Mae C. Bagui
It was also attended by LGMED personnel as support staff in the activity.
LGOO VI Myla B. Panganiban delivered the opening message where she briefly introduced
the BIDA Program and the region’s anti-illegal drugs Information, Education and
Communication (IEC) initiatives in line with the President’s direction.
ADAC RTA Risally T. Somigao presented the Artistic Shot Contest with its theme, Buhay
Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan; a theme aligned to the department’s new program against illegal
drugs and as a celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) week.
The Artistic Shot Contest is a Photography contest were
- ages 12 years old and above,
- living within the MIMAROPA region are encouraged to participate
- by taking and submitting raw/unedited photos that show relevance to the theme of the
contest and
- include a short story or description of the photo taken.

- Using social media platforms, the contest will run through Facebook for the posting of
entries and a voting system as part of the criteria for judging.
- The ICAD members will meet by December 2, 2022, to determine the winners.
- All winners shall receive a cash prize ranging from 5,000 pesos for the 1st place and
500 pesos for the consolation prizes.
The member agencies are also encouraged to pass on the information about the contest to
encourage more participants.
LGOO VI Myla B. Panganiban presented the final program of activities of the SICAP-BADAC
Rollout

A few comments were received from USAID requesting to omit the “CSO Intervention in
Rehabilitation and Reintegration Programs” as part of their topic, since this is not included in
the initial dialogue and they also requested to change the title of “What are the resources for
CBDR?” into “CBDR Resource Mobilization”.
Ms. Panganiban continued the discussion on the Introduction of the Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y
Ayawan (BIDA) Program, she discussed its background and all the necessary details included
in the draft memorandum circular. She also encouraged the member agencies whose office is
located in metro manila to participate in the grand launching of the BIDA Program at Quezon
City Circle on November 19, 2022.
The official AVP of the BIDA Program that was taken during the soft launching last October 7
was also shown to the member agencies for their information and reference.
The meeting ended at 11:45 AM.
