Conduct of Regional Training of Trainers on Strengthening Institutional Capacities of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SICAP-BADAC) in Region VI

To continuously provide the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Councils (BADACs) with significant knowledge, skills, and attitude to be able to ensure their functionality and sustain the various anti-illegal drug efforts being implemented over the years, the DILG Regional Office VI conducted the Regional Training of Trainers on Strengthening Institutional Capacities of BADACs (SICAP-BADAC) on October 20–21, 2022 at Diversion 21 Hotel, Iloilo City and via Zoom platform.

It was in collaboration with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) VI, Philippine National Police-Police Regional Office (PNP-PRO) VI, Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) VI, Department of Health (DOH) VI, Department of Education (DEPED) VI, and Signpost Philippines, Inc. as the Civil Society Organization (CSO) representative. It was participated by the provincial and HUC training teams from Region VI, composed of the DILG Provincial and HUC ADAC Focal and Alternate Focal Persons, LGU ADAC Focal Persons, PDEA representatives, PNP representatives, LHOs, LSWDOs, DEPED representatives, and their chosen CSO representatives. The City and Municipal Local Government Operations Officers across the region also participated virtually via the Zoom platform.

Following this training, the organized provincial and HUC training teams are expected to provide demand-driven capacity development interventions to the BADACs within their jurisdiction.
