Gawad Siklab: Search for Outstanding Program Implementers, Student Leaders, Teacher-Advisers, School Heads, and Regional and Division Youth Formation Coordinators is a year-long activity of the Bureau of Learner Support Services - Youth Formation Division (BLSS-YFD) of the Department of Education. The event comprises different categories, which include the Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Program. This activity aims to recognize the accomplishments and contributions of our learners, teachers, and administrators and identify best practices of the different chapters which will serve as role models for other schools. The search was open for public secondary high schools with established BKD chapters.

It was originally scheduled to be launched on March 8, 2021, as per OUA Memorandum No. 00-0321-0042. However, in compliance with the recommendations of the Inter-Agency Task Force, Gawad Siklab 2021 was moved to a later date by virtue of OUA Memorandum No. 00-0321-0261. The activity commenced on May 3, 2021, and has started receiving applications at the division-level until May 14, 2021. On June 24-30, 2021, the regional finalists were announced and their application documents were submitted to DepEd - Central Office for screening and evaluation. Gawad Siklab 2021 will end with a national awarding ceremony, which is scheduled on August 16-20, 2021.
