PDEA-DILG Online Orientation to BADACs on the DDB Regulation No. 7, series of 2019

On June 11 and 18, 2021, the PDEA CAR in coordination with DILG CAR conducted an online orientation on the Dangerous Drugs Board Regulation No. 7, series of 2019 - Consolidated Revised Rules Governing Access to Treatment and Rehabilitation Programs and Services. This activity aims to have a standard procedure in handling persons who used drugs (PWUDs) as this regulation intends to update existing policies and procedures thereof; and for the PDEA, PROCOR and barangays to have a unified list of drug surrenderers.

During the online orientation, BADACs are encouraged to continuously plan, strategize, implement and re-evaluate their programs and projects on drug abuse prevention in the barangay and to collaborate with other institutions like PNP and the municipal or city government in carrying out the programs. Also to maintain their rehabilitation desk and capacitate Barangay Health Workers on “Alcohol, Smoking and Substance Involvement Screening Test (ASSIST) to man the Rehabilitation Referral desk and handle drug surrenderers in the barangay.

The activity was attended by 776 participants composed of Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Members of all Barangays in CAR to include Faith-Based Organization Representatives, Chiefs of Police and PNP - PROCOR personnel-in-charge in monitoring drug surrenderers.
