Episode 5 of the NDEP Webinar Series was conducted on October 28, 2021, titled "The Importance of Life Skills in Drug Prevention." BLSS-SHD invited Mr. Santaner Tedranes Iray, Chief Trainer of Drug Check Philippines, Inc., as the speaker for the fifth episode of the series.

The objective of the episode is to discuss life skills as essential response to the challenges of everyday life in a constantly changing environment. The ongoing stress and uncertainty of COVID-19 pandemic have led to conditions like anxiety and depression which to some results to increasing substance use as a way of coping with stress or emotions related to COVID-19.

The development of life skills helps the students to find new ways of thinking, problem solving and recognize the impact of their actions and teaches them to take responsibility for what they do.
